Is Bedingfield back on form?

Published Thursday, Feb 7 2008, 16:22 GMT | By Nick Levine | 7 comments
We Brits haven't heard much from Natasha Bedingfield lately, but, across the pond, our 'Tash is doing very nicely indeed. In fact, her Pocketful of Sunshine album - five songs from last year's N.B. spliced together with eight new tracks – recently debuted at number three on the US chart. The key to her success? The sterling chart performance of 'Love Like This', a chipper slice of reggae-pop she's recorded with Sean Kingston. As if by magic, it appears for your viewing pleasure below.

Can this single – essentially Mariah Carey's 'Always Be My Baby' with added sunshine – revive Bedingfield's UK career? And, more importantly, is it good enough to make us forget 'I Wanna Have Your Babies' forever? Just hit the usual button to have your say.

'Love Like This' will be getting a UK release in April, with a special edition of N.B to follow soon after.

It's ridiculous that the single Say It Again was given minimal publicity and failed to even chart in the Top 75, but this - which is a million miles away from the Unwritten album, what Natasha is known best for - is considered one of her best songs?! It's catchy, but she can do sooo much better. Wish her all the best with it though, for the sake of her career I really hope it charts well in the UK.

Identikit mushy American high school rubbish! Doesn't sound like a Natasha Bedingfield record at all, it could be by anyone. Why not try to be successful on her own merit, rather than sticking a name of the moment on it to generate interest?

Her first album was very fresh and original. Now she's gone to America and has submitted to the will of the usual record industry idiots who've had her record this dreadful song and even worse video which is almost a carbon copy of any of the ten billion similar music videos by certain female artists. This really, really is horrible - either she doesn't care anymore about quality or she's just realised that the only way to sell the big numbers (and consequently retain a contract) is to just do what you're told and produce crap for the masses that actually buy this garbage.

Love Like This is the worst thing she has ever recorded. The second US single Pocketful Of Sunshine is 100x better and deserves to be a single over here a lot more than this pile of crap wil some one hit wonder rent a rapper in Sean Kingston.

I'm not sure about this one - it's not very catchy and I can't listen to the whole song either, but i wish her luck. If you ask me, i wouldn't rush out to buy the single.

Couldn't even listen to the whole song - I think it's dreadful.
