Here's Rihanna's new video
Published Monday, Apr 28 2008, 16:01 BST | By Nick Levine | 10 comments
Absolutely aaages after it had its radio premiere, Rihanna's 'Take A Bow' video has finally emerged. Not only does Miss Fenty look as ravishing as ever, but she also seems to have been practising her hand gestures - check out the way she signs "curtains fully closing" half-way through. Nice.
As we mentioned before, 'Take A Bow' is a new song recorded for the 'deluxe' version of Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad album. To be honest, she needn't have bothered returning to the studio while the fantastic 'Breakin' Dishes' is sitting on the album and practically begging to be released as a single, but, hey, at least she's not lazy. Rant over, here's the video:
What do you think of the new Rihanna video? Should she have released 'Breakin Dishes' as a single instead? Just hit the usual button to let us know, making as many references to her hand gestures as you like.

I agree, why did she bother? This has such a boring beat! Nothing like what her hits are made off. I was sure she would release Breakin' Dishes, but she didn't. What an awful mistake.

I like the song but prefer Breakin Dishes. I am really annoyed that she's reissuing her album though! What about all the people who've bought the original album? Are they supposed to go out and buy it again for this one song and bin the other one!

You're so right about Breakin' Dishes. It's a class song. But its not the only one. Rehab, Sell Me Candy, Good Girl Gone Bad are all huge potential hits, if only they were released!!

Basically, it's worse than every other song on the original album. Why this was chosen as a single is beyond me? There's no memorable chorus, no hook. It's monotonous and dull throughout and doesn't go anywhere. Plus the lyrics are laughable and almost cringeworthy. And the production is the same as we've heard hundreds of times before - but somehow, even less interesting. The video's just as dull as the song. It's a real shame considering Umbrella and Don't Stop The Music are 2 of the best pop songs of recent times. It's even more annoying when you consider gems like Breaking Dishes, Sell Me Candy and Rehab are left as album tracks.
