Up until now L.Lo's pop career has been eminently forgettable: imagine a pair of Ashlee Simpson albums, but without the tunes or glimpses of personality. Finally realising that a change of sound was in order, she's hooked up with Ne-Yo and Stargate, the hitmaking team behind Beyoncé's 'Irreplaceable' and Rihanna's 'Take A Bow'.

'Bossy' isn't pop gold - the chorus lacks a bit of oomph and Lohan's vocals still aren't convincing - but it's the first Lohan tune we'd be prepared to listen to more than once. That, we suppose, is enough to constitute a small step forward.
You can listen to 'Bossy' by clicking here, but expect to be interrupted by extremely irritating plugs for her new album.
