Are we getting bored with The Feeling?

Despite getting oodles of airplay, having a video in which Dan Gillespie Sells played a Russian cosmonaut and being really quite lovely, The Feeling's last single tanked. In fact, 'Without You' was unable to climb higher than number 53 - the band's worst ever chart performance.
At present, the band's second album, Join With Us, has shifted around 130,000 copies in the UK. This is a perfectly respectable sales tally - Ashlee Simpson would pawn her engagement ring for 150,000 album sales in the UK, we'd imagine - but it's disappointing for The Feeling, whose debut album sold five times that number. Yup, that's right, five.
So, with regret, it's time to ask the question: are music fans getting bored with The Feeling and their sugary soft rock ways? The proof, as they say, will be in the album's third single. 'Turn It Up' has pretty much everything you'd want from a great The Feeling tune: slightly cutesy lyrics, plenty of Queen-style harmonies and a chorus that works as swiftly and stealthily as a Covent Garden pickpocket. We'll be watching its chart performance very closely in the build-up to its July 7 release.
The video - which gets more interesting as it goes along - appears for your viewing pleasure below.

This band have to be one of the worst ever!...The Feeling are basically 'rock music for 5yr olds'!!!!!....every song sounds like it comes from/or is the theme to a childrens tv show!!! - Enough said!!!

Sorry, but is Frank from Gloucester deaf? What an inane comment - anyone who has seen The Feeling live will agree that they are anything but "talentless", and lets be honest, the charts seem to be packed full of stuff more deserving of being called "bland, insipid rubbish." "Musical ability of a dead skunk"? If he's going to post his opinion, at least don't base it on a load of absolute rubbish. Pathetic!

I could never be bored with The Feeling, I've loved every single including Without You, but I can see why it didn't do as well as other singles. Turn It Up is incredibly catchy and probably 'the' big single from the album.

Lee, are you deaf? The Feeling and the Hoosiers are responsible for the biggest song/riff stealing around at the moment. There 1st album was ok, but this new one is annoying. I'm glad it tanked, hopefully they will try and raise there game for the next one.

I think the Feeling havent lost it they have still got it and their music like the band name has feeling. Anyone with a computer these days can write a so called dance tune, it takes little if no talent to write the kind of pap that fills the UK charts now and over the last few years yet music that takes talent to write like the feeling and other such MOR groups get little if no music channel attention-its just crap like rap, R&B, and dance general. The songs are full of feeling and well written, the musicians can play instruments and dont rely on pinching other peoples hits or rifts from them, we need more groups like the feeling and the hoosiers etc

The Feeling are, and always have been, producers of the worst type of bland, insipid rubbish with the emotional range of a teaspoon and all the charm and musical ability of a dead skunk. The world would be a much better place if this bunch of chancers crawled back into whichever talentless hole they fell out of and never bothered the planet again.

I love the Feeling and have enjoyed both their albums. Granted, "Join With Us" doesn't have the array of amazing tunes that their debut had butits still a great poppy rock album. I think they made a mistake choosing to release "Without You" as it is one of the weakest tunes on the album - "Turn It Up" is much better and should do well. I hope it does - I really hope they get to release a third album!

I loved the second album from The Feeling, and thought it was better then the first. Surprising to hear it's not done so well, it's definitely worth a purchase.

I think is one of the best songs They have done (so far) The video is fantasic and Dan is a sex god. Without you is a good song but not really what charts these days, but I think this should go top 10 easily

We are NOT getting bored with The Feeling! They are a brilliant band and I am going to see them in 12 days. I think that Dan Gillespie Sells the lead singer is a gorgeous talanted man and gives the band that extra little bit that it needs to make it as good as it is!
