A student has been arrested after wrecking his new £10,000 mini in an alleged drunken attempt to recreate a scene from The Italian Job.
The 18-year-old was jailed overnight for driving the car up a flight of stairs at Bristol University's Wills Hall before crashing. His parents had given him the vehicle just one day earlier, reports The Telegraph.
Security staff and police were sent to arrest the teenager on suspicion of drink driving.
"He tried to recreate The Italian Job - but in the film they don't get caught," a police spokesman said.
The original 1969 caper film starred Michael Caine as an ex-con who attempts to steal $4 million worth of gold in Italy.
