A puppy has survived being hit by a car at 70 mph after getting lodged in its front grille.
The one-year-old stray was struck by Marco Menozzi's Peugeot 207 in Cosse, Italy, and was trapped in the front of the vehicle as it drove a further 15 miles.
Menozzi admitted that he did not consider stopping when he hit the animal, which sustained only a broken leg and bruising.
A police spokesman said of the dog's survival: "He's a very lucky boy. He was saved because he was hit so hard. Any softer and he would have bounced off the car and been crushed under the wheels."
