A Swazi women's football team has won its latest match 33-0, reports AFP.

The side, named Imbabatane after a plant whose seeds provoke itching, hammered rivals Inter-Ladies with 16 goals in the first half and 17 in the second.

Imbabatane's manager Aaron Mavimbela revealed that the opposition goalkeeper begged his team to ease off.

He said: "During the run of play, one of my players was approached by the goalkeeper who pleaded with her that the goals were now more than enough so they should stop it.

"If it were not for compassion towards this new team we could have won 60-0. We did not want to scare other teams that we are still to play."

Imbabatane player Fisiwe Hlophe scored 14 goals in the match.
