Schoolkids 'asked to bring in bog roll'

Children in Cork, Ireland have been asked to bring in their own toilet paper to school.

The request was made of students at St John's Girls National School in Carrigaline following budget cutbacks from the government, Reuters reports.

Principal Catherine O'Neill told RTE: "I've done a quick tour of the classrooms this morning and I'd say at least half the pupils have brought them in.

"I have no doubt that there are an enormous number of schools out there that are doing the same thing."
