71-year-old John Grady Pippen was informed by doctors in Oregon, USA that he was pregnant, reports say.
The retired mechanic was handed a note by hospital staff that read: "Based on your visit today, we know you are pregnant."
He had visited the hospital after suffering from abdominal pains.
However, it later transpired that the grandfather was given somebody else's discharge information.
According to Metro, Pippen was given some painkillers and allowed to leave the hospital.
