US couple adopt four-eared cat

A US couple have adopted a cat with four ears and named it Yoda.

Valerie and Ted Rock were in a Chicago bar when they noticed a grey kitten with two extra ears being passed around between the drinkers.

The cat had been part of a large litter and the owners were looking to find him a home.

Valerie told the Daily Mail: "Ted and I had just lost a cat that was our pet for over 20 years and we were sure we were done with cats.

"When [the four-eared cat] was passed around he reached for Ted, crawled up into the crook of his neck and fell asleep - Ted was a goner. It was a done deal when the kitten made himself at home on Ted's shoulder."

The couple named the kitten Yoda, due to his likeness to the Star Wars character.

"The vet had never seen anything like it before," added Valerie.
