Deer halts traffic in Milton Keynes

A stray 6ft tall deer recently brought rush-hour traffic to a standstill in Milton Keynes.

The stag became lost in the Buckinghamshire town and avoided being shot by a marksman, who feared hitting pedestrians with tranquiliser darts, reports The Telegraph.

A witness said: "The poor animal looked really scared and confused. It wanted to be back running around the forest but didn't know which way to go.

"It had really big antlers so people were worried that they could get injured if it ran into them or their cars."

The animal was last spotted near the Milton Keynes Bowl arena.

"The stag has now disappeared and we're hoping it has gone back into the wild," said a police spokesman.

"If anyone does see it in the streets we would urge them to give us a call as it could prove a threat to itself and motorists."
