Mouse takes on snake and wins

Onlookers were left stunned when a mouse meant as lunch for a viper turned the tide and killed the snake, reports say.

Firefighters in the town of Nantou, Taiwan had captured the snake and placed it in a cage, later finding the mouse for its lunch.

However, the emergency workers were shocked to see the mouse lashing out at its predator and eventually killing it.

"It attacked the snake continuously, biting and scratching it," a spokesman told Apple Daily.

Chief fireman Lan Sengqui said the viper could have been a "novice predator".
