In his 2006 album These Are Jokes, Martin bemoaned the lack of indifferent graffiti, saying: "Graffiti's the most passionate literature there is, you know? It's always like: 'Bush sucks!' [or] 'U2 Rocks!' ... I want to make indifferent graffiti [like] 'Toy Story 2 was okay!' ... 'I like Sheryl as a friend, but I'm not sure about taking things further'."
Fans of the comedian have now taken to writing such remarks on bathroom walls and park benches around the US.
It was announced earlier this year that Martin is to appear in new Ang Lee film Talking Woodstock.
His acting credentials also include Flight Of The Conchords and Analyze That.
