God triumphs in US lawsuit

A U.S. state senator's attempts to sue God for "widespread death and destruction" have been thrown out after a judge ruled that the defendant has no address.

The Nebraska judge wrote in his decision on the case: "There can never be service effectuated on the named defendant."

The suit was launched by Omaha state senator Ernie Chambers, who said he might appeal against the ruling.

He sought a permanent injunction to prevent God from causing the "widespread death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants", reports the New York Daily News.

The atheist targeted the Lord to prove that "every lawsuit must be allowed to be filed" following attempts by Nebraska Legislature to limit "frivolous lawsuits".
