Dangerous driver 'was meeting Beyoncé'

A driver told police he was behaving dangerously on the road because he was rushing to meet Beyoncé.

The 33-year-old man from Michigan was on his way to New York to meet the star, who he claimed was waiting for him at the George Washington Bridge, when he was pulled over in Connecticut.

Officers found a teddy bear and flowers in his vehicle, which he claimed were presents for the former Destiny's Child singer.

"He didn't threaten her or anything ... It was just his claim that he was going to meet her," said police spokesperson Vaughan Dumas.

The man was released on bail and was then admitted to a local hospital for tests.
