A policeman allegedly shot his colleague in the leg when an attempt to disperse a mob of youngsters went wrong.

The Romanian cops had been called to Brasov town square to deal with a group who were said to be disturbing local residents by drinking and swearing.

The policeman decided the best course of action would be to dispel the sizeable mob with a warning shot, reports Ananova. However, the gun allegedly fired as he took the safety catch off and he shot his partner in the thigh.

"He's under investigation for improper use of a weapon. He's not going to win marksman of the year award either," a colleague said.
