A woman diagnosed with a rare condition can only recognise Sir Sean Connery's voice.
The Brit, known as KH, suffers from Phonagnosia and cannot differentiate the voices of her family members or friends. However, tests carried out at the University College London and reported in Neuropsychologia found that she instantly recognised Sir Sean's Scottish brogue.
Dr Brad Duchaine, who has been studying the case, said: "Voice recognition may not seem as important as face recognition, given that failing to recognise someone in front of you can cause much more social anxiety than not recognising them over the phone.
"Yet we rely on voice recognition in our day-to-day lives, to identify people on the phone or those speaking on the radio."
The 60-year-old woman is the first known case of someone born with the condition.
