Pupil expelled for dressing as Joker

A pupil has been expelled from the American School of London for dressing up as the Joker.

The 15-year-old boy hid in costume during a school assembly, then jumped out on stage brandishing a toy gun that he aimed at staff and children.

The private school, which follows the American education curriculum, immediately threw out the boy and banned him from returning to pick up his belongings.

A Facebook group was started to "honour the prankster and his crazy Joker prank in front of the entire high school. For all who wish to speak out about the injustice of his expulsion. For all who want to remember him for the legend he truly is".

The group amassed more than 100 members before it was pulled from the social network site.

A school spokesman told The Telegraph: "It is the school's policy not to make any public statements about internal events or circumstances involving students or faculty at the American School in London out of respect for the privacy of the individuals involved."
