Oliver Kohl and his bride Angela had married in Hamm, near Dortmund, and were going to the remote village of Willingen for their honeymoon when they became stuck halfway up the 2,755ft peak, Ananova reports.
Their satellite navigation system had apparently led them down a bumpy and unpaved forest track. The 24-year-old groom said: "At one point there was a gate I had to open, and then eventually the road became a muddy swamp and we got stuck fast."
Police were eventually called to help the newlyweds off the mountain, with a spokesman saying: "It's a wedding night they will never forget."
Two weeks ago, a polish man drove into a lake after following his GPS directions down a disused road. "His GPS told him to drive straight ahead and he did," a police spokesman said at the time.
