Japanese man takes up airport residency
Published Monday, Nov 24 2008, 14:42 GMT | By Sarah Rollo
A Japanese man can't explain why he has been living in a Mexican airport for the past three months.
Hiroshi Nohara arrived in the country on September 2 and has since set up home in Terminal One of Benito Juarez International Airport.
Local authorities can't force him to leave until his visa runs out in March. Meanwhile, Nohara has become famous and told a local TV station: "I do not understand why I am here. I don't have any reasons."
Nohara, originally from Tokyo, sleeps in the airport's food hall and is fed by vendors and passengers in exchange for an autograph or photo.
