A 107-year-old woman from China is looking for a husband.

Wang Guiying from Chongqing has instructed her nieces and nephews, the youngest of which is 60, to find her a man because she fears that they have too many commitments of their own to look after her properly.

She told her local newspaper: "Although helping others makes me happy, I have gradually become a big burden for my family members."

Wang, the daughter of a salt merchant, said that she has feared men for so long because she often heard her uncle beating her aunt.

"Every other married couple lived the same life," she added. "Marriage was too horrifying. My younger brother was happy after he got married, but I was still afraid of marriage."

Wang's family is narrowing its husband search to men who are over 100 so that the couple will have something in common.
