Girl nearly kills puppy with Wii controller

A puppy was nearly killed after it was knocked unconscious by a Wii controller during a game of Wii Sports.

Katy White from Marquette, Michigan struck the five-month-old miniature Sheltie while playing bowling on the console.

"We had just got the Wii for Christmas, so we were trying it out," White told 9News.

"[I was] bowling and Ozzy was standing by me and he jumped up and I hit him in the temple and [nearly] killed him instantly."

White's neighbour Pene Honey gave the dog mouth-to-mouth to revive him, before he was taken to a local vet and treated for a cardiac arrest and brain swelling.

Almost fully recovered, Ozzy is now banned from the room where the family plays on the Wii.
