A couple have won the right to name their house 'Love Shack' following a lengthy battle with their local authority.
Richmond Council had feared that the moniker could confuse the emergency services if they were called to the ex-boatbuilder's shed on Eel Pie Island, Twickenham, reports The Sunday Telegraph.
However, artists Simon and Sheba Cassini proved there was no truth to the claim when a neighbour mistook a barbecue in their garden for a blaze and called the fire brigade.
Engines were at the home within minutes, dispelling the council's fears that the word 'shack' was "misleading".
The couple have now been given formal permission to name their home after the '90s hit by The B-52's. Mr Cassini said: "My relentless onslaught of irritatingly erudite and polite emails have finally proved too much and they're graciously allowing us our change of name."
A Richmond Council spokesman said the London Fire Brigade had initially objected to the name but had "reassessed its position" following the back garden incident.
