Contractors left bank open overnight
Published Tuesday, Apr 7 2009, 07:24 BST | By Sarah Rollo

Police were alerted to the security breach at the Low Fell Barclays's building after a member of the public entered the next morning to discover an empty room.
Officers quickly secured the site before calling the bank's security firm to lock up.
A Barclays's spokeswoman said that it was a "rare incident" and had been taken seriously. "We will be reviewing the circumstances with the third party contractor, whose standards appear to have fallen short on this occasion. We will also be thanking our customer for their vigilance," she added.
