The Conservative party has denied claims that a video taken at an acid house rave in 1988 shows leader of the opposition David Cameron.

Footage of a raver bearing a facial similarity to the Tory leader is visible 12 seconds into the clip from a Sunrise party during the second Summer of Love.

The clip was posted on the right wing blog belonging to Paul Staines, aka Guido Fawkes, who worked as the head of PR for Sunrise in the late 1980s.

Staines said: "'Is this a picture of a long-haired 22-year-old David Cameron? The pictures are taken from a video of a Sunrise Party held in the summer of 1988. You decide."

A Conservative press spokesperson has "categorically" denied that the image was of the MP for Witney.
