A woman has reportedly found a dead mouse in a jar of Asda curry sauce.
Cate Barrett from St Austell, Cornwall, noticed the rodent when she emptied the jar of Extra Special Tikka Masala sauce into a pan, South West News Service reports.
The 38-year-old said: "I stirred the sauce around and thought it looked a little bit more lumpy than usual and wondered if we had too many vegetables in the pan.
''Then as the sauce spread out, I saw whiskers, legs, and a tail. There it was, a whole, dead, tikka masala flavoured mouse. Needless to say, we didn't eat the curry that we were looking forward to.''
She added: "It's going to be a while until I get another one of those tikka masala sauces. Asda have been good about it all. I'm not squeamish but that definitely got my heart pumping when I saw it."
An Asda spokesman said: "The curry sauce has been sent to be analysed and a full investigation will take place, usually taking a number of weeks.
''We will report back to the customer when this has been concluded and we appreciate Mrs Barrett's patience.''
