The pet walked behind the panel and went unnoticed by host David Dimbleby and his guests before Liberal Democrat MP Julia Goldsworthy spotted him and mouthed "cat" at the production team, the Daily Mail reports.
Jackie Ellery said that she was watching TV and wondering where one-year-old Tango was when she found out that he was spotted on the BBC One set at Treviglas Community College in Newquay, Cornwall.
The 39-year-old mother-of-two said: "My friend phoned me to say, 'Have you seen your cat on the telly?' And there he was.
"It's lovely - he's a mischievous cat anyway and because we live so close to the school he's often in the school grounds."
