The bungalow in Newhall, Staffordshire was being used to film scenes for The Kindness Of Strangers, which is being directed by Deborah Hadfield, OriginalBristol reports.
One crew member said: "It was hilarious to see a bunch of policemen enter the bungalow expecting to see a porn film carrying on.
"When the officers saw two dressed actors talking, they looked quite disappointed. The curtain-twitchers certainly have a vivid imagination."
Promoter James Harris added: ''The scenes we were shooting were intense dramas between two characters, which also featured actors playing police officers."
The authorities had been alerted after neighbours mistakenly thought that film and lighting equipment being taken into the house were being used to shoot pornography.
Prowse is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the masked Darth Vader in George Lucas's original Star Wars trilogy, though the character's voice was provided by James Earl Jones.
