Gordon Brown has allegedly avoided answering questions about his favourite type of biscuit.

BBC News reports that the prime minister took part in a web chat on the site Mumsnet.

During the conversation, he answered questions about his health, the government's record on families, childcare, swine flu and expenses.

However, he failed to reply to numerous questions about his favourite type of biscuit. Some users reportedly suggested that he liked Garibaldi or Nice biscuits, while another participant asked if he liked to dunk.

Brown eventually responded to the queries on Twitter, writing that he likes "absolutely anything with a bit of chocolate on it".

However, he added: "Trying v hard to cut down."
