Woman 'paralysed by sneeze'

A woman who was paralysed following a sneeze has reportedly recovered after two years.

Victoria Kenny, a solicitor from Chichester, ruptured a disc in her spine after sneezing while watching EastEnders, the Daily Mail reports.

The mother-of-three said: "When I sneezed I felt a searing pain down my spine. I didn't understand what was happening.

"I couldn't stand or move my limbs. It was terrifying. My first fear was that I was paralysed."

Kenny, 53, underwent surgery in April to fuse her vertebrae either side of the damaged disc and has now regained her movement following physiotherapy.

She added: "The relief was immediate after the operation and I was discharged from hospital the next day.

"But I'm still terrified of sneezing - I sit down and pinch my nose every time I feel one coming on."
