Students fined for 'Ass of 2010' prank
Three students have been fined and suspended after spelling out 'Ass Of 2010' in their school photo.

Cypress Ridge High School seniors had posed for a formal shot with front-row students wearing T-shirts spelling out 'Class of 2010', KHOU reports.

However, in a second informal snap, the classmates wearing the 'C' and 'L' shirts moved, leaving the altered message. The student wearing 'A' and the two wearing 'S' were each fined $135 and suspended for three days.

Student Austin Knight complained: "I heard C and L ran off. That's not ASS's fault. That's C and L's fault. It was funny and they shouldn’t have been punished."

However, another senior Raymond Carrigan said: "I didn't really think anything of it because it was supposed to be a funny picture, though it was ignorant and disrespectful."

A statement from the district confirmed: "Three students were disciplined in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct."

The students were also sacked from their officer positions at school clubs, while the money raised from the fines will be used to retouch and reprint the panoramic photo.
