Playboy appears on children's TV

The Playboy channel has accidentally been aired on children's TV for two hours.

A "technical glitch" led to Time Warner Cable (TWC) broadcasting adult clips on the Kids On Demand and Kids Preschool On Demand channels in North Carolina earlier this week.

TWC was alerted to the mistake by parents, who called to report the error. The explicit content aired between 6.15am to 8.15am local time.

"We're very, very sorry it happened - we know parents are concerned," TWC spokesman Keith Poston told local news station WRAL. "It took about an hour or so once we were notified of the problem to actually get it fixed.

"It was a technical glitch and unfortunately it hit at the worst possible time on the worst possible channels."

A menu of children's programmes was still listed on the left side of the screen, but nude women chatting explicitly also featured instead of previews of kids' shows.
