Pini Cohen, 52, missed Dorit Beinisch with one shoe during the incident at the Supreme Court hearing but hit the judge between the eyes with the other, knocking her to the floor.
Cohen told the court that he had been treated unfairly by the Israeli judicial system in previous divorce proceedings, Reuters reports.
Sentencing, Jerusalem magistrate Shimon Feinberg said: "This kind of incident must never happen again and this punishment is a warning to others."
Last year, a self-proclaimed Iraqi journalist-in-exile threw a shoe at Muntazer al-Zaidi, the man who famously flung his own footwear at then-president of the US George W. Bush in 2008.
