Doctors in China have removed a 10.5cm knife blade from a man's head, which had gone unnoticed for four years.
Li Fu, 37, from Yuanjiang County in southwest China's Yunnan Province was attacked in 2006 when he was working as a pedicab driver, Rex Features reports.
"One day I was carrying a passenger. When we reached the destination he suddenly put a knife to my neck, demanding money. I struggled and was stabbed in the face," Li said. "The wound on my face sealed up gradually and I didn't have other symptoms so I didn't think of doing further check-ups."
After suffering headaches, however, Li went to the hospital where the blade was discovered. It was removed in surgery lasting four hours and found to be 1.8cm wide and 0.24cm thick.
Doctor Xu Wen said: "We were totally amazed to see such a long blade in his face after doing X-ray pictures and CAT scans.
"It's amazing to know that the blade has been there for more than four years and the patient is still living without too many problems."
