Cephalopod mollusc Iker chose to eat a sardine from a cylinder featuring the Manchester United crest, rather than one boasting Barcelona's.
However, the 16kg creature, who is named after Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, has only a two out of three record on its past predictions, AFP reports.
Iker, who is housed at the Sea Life Aquarium in Benalmadena, wrongly forecast that Real Madrid would reach this weekend's final, but correctly 'predicted' his team's 1-1 league draw with Barcelona on April 16 and their 1-0 cup win days later.
The octopus has been making predictions since the death of psychic cephalopod Paul the Octopus last October.
Paul had retired after correctly predicting a number of games at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, including Spain's victory in the final.
After his death, a shrine was planned for the creature at his former home at the Sea Life Centre in Oberhausen, Germany.
