Ah, Wimbledon. The grass, the strong traditions, and the strawberries and cream. The prestigious tournament is one of the pinnacles of the tennis - and sporting - calendar.
The 2011 Wimbledon Championships started yesterday, despite the British rain doing its best to put a dampener on proceedings. To mark the opening day, British supermarket chain Tesco launched a unique strawberry and cream sandwich.
Priced at £1 ($1.62), the sandwich consists of sliced strawberries coated in Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam. However, it also contains a lofty 435 calories.

Tesco's sandwich developer said: "We wanted to create an iconic feel-good sandwich treat that evoked a classic feeling of summertime.
"Some people might think it very odd putting strawberries and clotted cream in a sandwich, but the overall taste is not that dissimilar to a classic scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream."
Tesco is no stranger to unusual concoctions - last year, it launched the less visually pleasing lasagne sandwich. It's also sold a banana and chocolate variety.
