The learner was driving the L-plated red vehicle around Knightsbridge in London, with his father acting as his instructor, SWNS reports.
The Ferrari drew attention from a group of people, including a YouTube user who recorded footage of the car with his camera.
Supercar fanatic and YouTube uploader Shmee150 said: "Seeing supercars in London is an everyday sight, but never before have I seen one with an L-plate.
"At first, I assumed it must just be a joke, but to discover he genuinely was having a lesson in the Ferrari was mind-boggling."
The Ferrari 458 Italia has a top speed of 325 km/h (202mph) and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 3.4 seconds.
Furthermore, if the learner were to insure the car, he would likely have to pay more than £30,000 ($48,000).
