News International phone hacking 'movie': Trailer

Rebekah Brooks gives evidence to the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee

A satirical trailer for a fictional movie about the News International phone hacking scandal has started gathering views online.

The News At The End Of The World stars flame-haired Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall as Rebekah Brooks, Geoffrey Rush as News Corp owner Rupert Murdoch and Hilary Swank as his son James.

The promo also credits Hugh Grant with playing Prime Minister David Cameron, while Colin Firth will portray the actor himself as the Love Actually star's part in exposing the scandal is relived.

The film, which is imagined as coming from the director of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, sees the likes of Russell Crowe, Paddy Considine, Peter Kay and Rowan Atkinson portray key players in the controversy, while Steve Coogan will make a cameo appearance in a dramatisation of his fiery Newsnight attack on The News of the World.
