A squad of eight roller-blading policewomen has been deployed in the Chinese city of Chengdu in Sichuan province.
The women will patrol in Tianfu Square, an area known for its drunks and pickpockets, Rex Features reports.
Chen Fengyu, 19, said: "I like watching the policewomen in the Hong Kong TV series very much. So when I saw the advertisement for roller skate police, I had to have a try. It's so cool."

Organiser Song Bin added: "It's efficient, effective and more environmentally friendly than patrolling in cars."
When not wearing the skates, the women have been given three-inch high heels "to make them elegant but with authority".
