Manchester City footballers gatecrash fans' wedding

Manchester City fans Chris and Charlaine Booth have spoken of their surprise after some of their favourite footballers turned up at their wedding.

The couple, from Dukinfield, were preparing to celebrate their marriage at the Worsley Marriott when Roberto Mancini and his team arrived ahead of their visit to Bolton Wanderers.

The likes of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko were happy to join the wedding party when they noticed the couple were wearing the team's colour on their special day.

Charlaine told the Manchester Evening News: "We are both City fans and we had arranged a City-themed wedding. The bridesmaids wore blue dresses and all the men wore sky blue waistcoats and ties.

"We had no idea that the team were staying there. We'd had the wedding and the meal and were in the foyer waiting for the evening reception when word spread that City had turned up. Suddenly I turned round and Carlos Tevez was there.

"I started shouting 'Carlos, Carlos' at the top of my voice. I couldn't help myself. I know he doesn't speak English so I pointed at the sky blue on Chris's suit and said, 'Wedding - picture?' He smiled and said, 'Yeah, yeah' and we had one taken."

Other stars including Aleksandar Kolarov and Stefan Savic posed for photos and mingled with the wedding guests.

Charlaine added: "They were ace - really approachable and they were absolutely fine when we asked them for pictures."
