Hospital job advert includes "usual rubbish about equal opportunities" gaffe

An online job advert for a Regional Anaesthetist Fellow has been taken down after including the phrase "usual rubbish about equal opportunities".

The vacancy at Broad Green hospital, Liverpool was quickly readvertised with the offending line excluded, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Following a description of the job and expectations of the future employee, the advert included the phrase "Usual rubbish about equal opportunities employer etc...".

A hospital spokesman said: "The wording on this advert in no way reflects the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust's position in relation to equal opportunities, to which it is fully committed.

"The Trust is conscious of its duty to promote equality and is a Stonewall Diversity Champion employer.

"The Trust will be conducting an investigation into this incident to ensure that this cannot happen again."
