Colombian women end sex strike over road

The women in a remote southwestern town in Columbia have declared that their sex strike is now over.

In June, a large number of female residents of Barbacoas announced their intention to deny their partners sex until the local authorities agreed to build a road linking the town to the provincial capital of Pasto.

AFP reports that as work began on the new road this past Tuesday, the women have declared that their abstinence is at an end.

The new road will cut travel time by at least six hours for the town of 35,000 people.

Mayor Jose Arnulfo personally confirmed that the strike was legitimate, claiming that his wife had been sleeping in a separate bedroom for three months.
