Firefighters free man trapped in McDonald's straw dispenser

Firefighters in Ipswich rescued a man trapped in a straw dispenser at McDonald's restaurant on Tuesday evening.

The man had tried to take out some straws from an opening at the back of the dispenser and became stuck in the process, the Evening Star reports.

The rear part of the dispenser is usually only used by staff for refilling with straws when needed.

The man, who was at the fast food outlet with his children, was said to be unhurt but embarrassed by the incident.

The fire crew freed the man within 20 minutes by dismantling the dispenser.

Earlier this year, a woman in Pennsylvania had to be rescued by firefighters after getting her hand stuck in an ATM.
