Wildlife expert An Yanshi has collected around five tons of panda excrement to create the brand new type of tea.
The college lecturer thinks that the rich fertiliser will help create a unique aroma for the tea, which he can then sell for up to £50,000 per kilo.
"Pandas have a very poor digestive system and only absorb about 30 percent of everything they eat. That means their excrement is rich in fibres and nutrients," Yanshi said.
"It has a mature, nutty taste and a very distinctive aroma while it's brewing."
Yanshi, who collects the panda poo from the Giant Panda breeding centre in Chengdu, Sichuan province, southern China, wants to achieve a Guinness World Record once the blend is ready for sale.
The world's most expensive coffee Kopi Luwak, which sells for around £100 per pound, is made from beans which are eaten and then passed through the digestive tract of the Indonesian civet cat.
