10-year-old French boy misses bus, drives dad's car to school

The child was joined by a 9-year-old friend who also missed the bus in his father's Renault Megane. He drove over a mile before crashing into a roadside pylon in the town of Valence, which is around 105km south of Lyon.
"I had my seatbelt on," the boy reportedly told police officers.
Both boys escaped from the crash without any injuries, reports AFP.
However, the child may face charges of driving without a licence and damaging public property if prosecutors decide to move ahead with the case.
The age of criminal responsibility in France is currently 13 years old.
