'Sexist' Top Totty beer pulled from parliament bar

An ale called Top Totty has been withdrawn from the House of Commons bar after a complaint from an MP.
The beer from independent Stafford brewer Slater's had been introduced to the Strangers' Bar by Jeremy Lefroy MP but shadow equalities minister Kate Green demanded its removal because of the picture on its pump.

The beer was officially barred within 90 minutes of the complaint, Metro reports, and Green later called for a parliamentary debate on "dignity in work".
"Leader of house of commons agrees with me guest beer top totty should be withdrawn now from parliament bar," Green said on Twitter. "Demeans women... Plsd parliament bar has withdrawn beer."
In a post on his official website, Lefroy said: "These guest ale slots offer a very welcome opportunity for small independent breweries, like Slater's, to reach a wider audience with their products, some of which have cheeky names.
"However, I can understand that some people may take offence to the marketing, which I am sorry about."
He added: "The beer has been on sale in the Strangers bar in the House of Commons since Tuesday [January 31]. It is the second time it has featured as a guest ale, first appearing in 2007.
"I invited Slater's to put forward a guest ale to the bar following a visit to the brewery site in Stafford as I am keen to support local businesses and British beer. This is their top-selling and award-winning beer and proved popular with House of Commons drinkers in 2007."
In 2010, a German company won the right to trademark the name "F**king Hell" as a brand for its beer and clothing.
