The Burnley Crematorium in Lancashire claims that the live service will benefit mourners who are unable to attend funerals in person, according to The Mirror.
A spokesman for the council said: "With the video technology, people will be able to register to view a stream of the service from any computer.
"It would mean the proverbial Great Aunt Mabel who emigrated to Australia would be able to view in real time the service for a relative back in Burnley."
Councillor Jeff Sumner added: "It would be an extra optional service, and the firm would only be available via a password-protected site. So only those family and friends with the password would be able to see it."
The service will be implemented later this year, as well as an installation of a large screen and music system outside of the chapel to be used for attendees if there are no seats left inside.
A total of £25,000 ($39,000) is reportedly being spent on these additions.
