New Yorker files $900,000,000,000,000 lawsuit

A New York woman has filed a $900 trillion federal lawsuit against city officials, claiming her children were wrongly taken into foster care.

Fausat Ogunbayo, 46, insists that child welfare services violated her civil rights as well as those of her offspring, and is seeking the 15-figure payout in damages.

Administration for Children Services ruled in mid-2008 that Ogunbayo was unfit to care for her children - now aged 13 and 16 - due to mental health problems.

The mother has since hit back at the allegations, asserting that her two boys were wrongfully removed from her custody.

Ogunbayo argues in her complaint, filed last week at a District Court in Brooklyn, that she is mentally stable, accusing government officials of "recklessly disregarding" her "right to family integrity" and causing emotional distress to her sons.

New York City officials are yet to respond to Ogunbayo's lawsuit.
