Ducks get police escort to cross road - video

Police officers have been filmed escorting a family of ducks across a busy motorway.

The incident occurred in Texas when the group of ducks struggled to cross the road safely as cars drove by.

A team of passing officers pulled over to give the birds some support on their journey.

The family eventually made it to the other side after the ducklings followed their mother's lead once officers had halted the oncoming traffic.

One policeman even attempted to pick a particularly slow duckling up after its brothers and sisters raced ahead.

Police in Florida were filmed performing a similar good deed last year.
