Benjamin Redford developed the product for tech company Mint, reports BBC News.
Olly will be able to watch personal Twitter and Facebook accounts and will spray perfume upon different types of online communication, such as a retweets, comments, mentions by name or specific text searches.
Redford said: "We wanted to reward people in the physical world for their digital and social interactions.
"We are gradually spending more and more time on screen and it's good to have some other form of sensory stimulus rather than just video and audio."
The product will launch in late 2012.
